RUNES                                     PROPERTY                         WHAT IT DOES

ATTACK RUNES  
Retaliation / Bane                               + Physical Damage            Best runes for attackers.
Guildmaster / Arti  sanship / Adept           + Skill Damage                Good to add to your hitter that has a great skill attack.
Eagle / Hawkishness /Preciseness           + Hit Rating                   Increases the likelihood of a hit. Great for mages
Destruction / Eradicator / Infallibility      + Break Rating                The antidote for enemies that block
Superiority / Advantage                        + Critical Hit                 Increases the chances of getting a Critical hit
Crusader / Partisan / Righteousness        + Initial Morale              Adds to the skill bar but does not add to power
Vengeance  = Bane + Adept                 + Physical and + skill damage                                  Divine rune – unlocks at Level 60
Reliability = Dexterousness + Infallibility  + Resilience (- Critical hit) and + Break Rating            Divine rune – unlocks at Level 60
Endurance  = Vitality + Righteousness    + Max Hit Points and + Morale                                 Divine rune – unlocks at Level 60

DEFENSE RUNES
Tranquility / Messiness                       -Magic Damage                    Defends against magic attacks
Mountain / Mesa / Burliness                -Physical Damage                  Defends against physical attacks
Tactics / Flintiness                            -Skill Damage                       Defends against skill attacks
Cunning / Phantom / Dexterousness      -Critical Hit                          Defends against Critical hits
Wall / Resistance                               + BLock                              Halves the damage taken and there is a chance of counter attack
Agility / Nimbleness                            + Dodge Rating                     Evades the enemy’s attack
                                                       
MAGE-ONLY RUNES
Trance / Focused / Intenseness          + Magic Attack                      Rune has no effect on physical attackers

DO NOT PUT ON MAGES  
Retaliation / Bane                             + Physical Damage           Mages do not do physical attacks
Artisanship / Adept                           + Skill Damage                 Mages do not do skill attacks
Superiority / Advantage                     + Critical Hit                   Mages do not do critical hits
Partisan / Righteousness                    + Initial Morale                Mages do not have skill bars

GENERAL RUNES
Vigor / Vitality                                 + Max Hit Point               Good for any hero to add health

Tynon - Runes for Mages - What works and what does not

All defensive abilities (HP, Physical Defense, Skill Defense, Magic Defense, Resilience, Dodge, Block) benefit Mages.
Magic Attack (of course) benefits Mages.
Physical Attack, Skill Attack, Critical, and Initial Morale do not benefit Mages.
Hit Rating and Break benefit Mages.

This is not related to Runes but it is something that everyone needs to know about Mages. Embedding sapphires on a Mage's Spirit does nothing. If you do you are just wasting them.

I found a note someone asking why a sapphired needed to be put in a spirit on your mages? I tested the mages in my formation for power boost or drop. YOU DO NOT NEED TO WAIST YOUR SAPPHIRES ON MAGES!!! However they do need the spirit because it has physical, skill and magic attacks, the sapphire is used to boost skill attack of the hero. There for spirit on but no sapphires used on mages. You can use to boost your other hero's an give you some more power. Awesome discovery!
